English version of my conference – Utilisation de grands modèles de langage localement en recherche – presented at SADC - CHU Ste-Justine on February 27, 2026. The presentation focuses on the benefits and practicalities of using large language models (LLMs) locally in scientific research, particularly in sensitive fields like healthcare. It covers the advantages of local deployment for data confidentiality, intellectual property protection, and customized analyses, as well as the tools and resources available for researchers to implement LLMs on-site or on HPC clusters.
